Face to Face Meetings With Jesus Christ 3 (PDF) by Felix Wantang Book Summary:

We all live in a world where virtually every spiritual struggle is practically beyond our control. While some of us will die instantly without the opportunity to consciously sense death beforehand, others on the other hand will have the opportunity to know well in advance that death is around the corner. Regardless of which group you eventually find yourself, the truth is that every life on earth will one day without notice suddenly come to an end followed by a swift judgment with no excuses whatsoever. Do you know your final destination? When the disciples asked Jesus about the End of the Age, he said to them, “No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” Matthew 24:36. But in this book and for the first time in human history, Jesus discloses a unique breathtaking code in the Language of Heaven that reveals the only clue to the End of the Age. God’s spiritual principle of life for humanity on earth is, “All about Him” because He wants us to make Him the priority of our lives. But on judgment day, when you appear before Jesus Christ, that will all change because God’s spiritual principle of life for humanity will become, “All about you”. You either have Jesus Christ to enter God’s Paradise in Heaven or you don’t. What makes your life a supernatural success is where you effectively go from this world; not where you came from or what you did on earth at the expense of salvation. No eyes have ever seen, no ears have ever heard, and no human mind can fathom what God is about to unleash on earth through the second coming of His son. This book will give you all the supernatural Biblical spiritual details you need to prepare yourself for what the Bible described as “The Final Hour.” The time is at hand; Jesus loves you. This book is Volume 3 of “Face to Face Meetings with Jesus Christ”. Apart from him, we can do nothing.

Face to Face Meetings with Jesus Christ (PDF) by Felix Wantang Book Summary:

We all have questions regarding God’s paradise in heaven; as Christians, there is nothing more disappointing as spending all your life on earth convinced that you will go to Paradise when you die only to arrive there and hear Jesus say to you, “You are not saved; you are going to hell.” There are more than 6,000 spoken languages in the world but one thing that sets heaven apart from the earth is the fact that there is only one language in Heaven. A good knowledge of the Language of Heaven will prepare you to better understand the Holy Bible, the teachings of Jesus Christ, his parables, and the miracles he performed. This book will introduce you to the Language of Heaven, answer your questions about heaven, prepare you for the struggles of this world, and ultimately help to prepare you for Jesus Christ. When you read this book, you will know without any doubts if indeed you are truly saved and ready to enter God’s paradise in Heaven. This book is Volume One of “Face to Face Meetings with Jesus Christ” trilogy and a must-read for every soul. Felix Wantang has been meeting face-to-face with Jesus Christ since October 1991. Bad News by Rob Brotherton Book Summary:

From the bestselling author of Suspicious Minds There was a time when the news came once a day, in the morning newspaper. A time when the only way to see what was happening around the world was to catch the latest newsreel at the movies. Times have changed. Now we're inundated. The news is no longer confined to a radio in the living room, or to a nightly half-hour timeslot on the television. Pundits pontificate on news networks 24 hours a day. We carry the news with us, getting instant alerts about events around the globe. Yet despite this unprecedented abundance of information, it seems increasingly difficult to know what's true and what's not. In Bad News, Rob Brotherton delves into the psychology of news, reviewing how the latest research can help navigate this supposedly post-truth world. Which buzzwords describe psychological reality, and which are empty sound bites? How much of this news is unprecedented, and how much is business as usual? Are we doomed to fall for fake news, or is fake news ... fake news? There has been considerable psychological research into the fundamental questions underlying this phenomenon. How do we form our beliefs, and why do we end up believing things that are wrong? How much information can we possibly process, and what is the internet doing to our attention spans? Ultimately this book answers one of the greatest questions of the age: how can we all be smarter consumers of news?

Unfree Speech by Joshua Wong,Jason Y. Ng Book Summary:

'If we want freedom, we need to learn from Hong Kong. With values, tactics, and courage, Joshua Wong shows us the way.' – Timothy Snyder Named by the Financial Times as one of the 50 people who shaped the decade - Introduction by Ai Weiwei - An urgent manifesto for global democracy from the leading 23-year-old Hong Kong activist - Nobel Peace Prize nominee and TIME, Forbes and Fortune world leader. At what point do you stand up to power? When he was 14, Joshua Wong made history. While the adults stayed silent, Joshua staged the first ever student protest in Hong Kong to oppose National Education – and won. Since then, Joshua has led the Umbrella Movement, founded a political party, and rallied the international community around the anti-Extradition Bill protests, which have seen 2 million people – more than a quarter of the population – take to Hong Kong’s streets. His actions have sparked worldwide attention, earned him a Nobel Peace Prize nomination, and landed him in jail twice. Composed in three parts, Unfree Speech chronicles Joshua’s path to activism, collects the letters he wrote as a political prisoner, and closes with a powerful and urgent call for all of us globally to defend our democratic values. When we stay silent, no one is safe. When we free our speech, our voice becomes one.

Villes rebelles by David Harvey Book Summary:

Les Cendres d'Angela (N. éd.) by Frank MCCOURT Book Summary:

Answers to Questions You've Never Asked by Joseph Pisenti Book Summary:

The #1 bestselling trivia collection with bizarre facts to entertain you for hours, from the creator of YouTube’s RealLifeLore. Where can I move to so that I’m never tempted by McDonald’s again? How far into the Pacific does Trump’s wall stretch? If Plato came back to life, what would he think of modern democracy? Why do all empires fail? Who decides what countries are allowed to participate in the Olympics? What makes Finland so great? When you take the most absurd parts of history, science, economics, and geography, you end up with a pretty confusing picture of humanity. Why do we have borders, what’s the furthest you can get from the ocean, how do you qualify as a country, and why did Vikings wear those silly helmets? These are just a few of the strange questions that bounce around the head of YouTube sensation Joseph Pisenti, aka RealLifeLore. In his debut book, Pisenti explores the nonsensical humor of the universe with in-depth analysis of empires, economies, and ecosystems as he helps answer the ridiculous. Why, you ask? Because someone has to. Using line drawings, graphs, and charts, Pisenti not only details the absurd—he also provides explanations on why things are . . . and why they aren’t.

Why Nothing Works by Marvin Harris Book Summary:

From cults to crime to porno parlors—this book is about a lot of things that are new and strange in America today. This book is about cults, crime, and shoddy goods, and the shrinking dollar. It's about porno parlors, and sex shops, and men kissing in the streets. It's about daughters shaking up, women on the rampage, marriages postponed, divorces on the rise, and no one having kids. It's about old ladies getting mugged and raped, people shoved in front of trains, and shoot-outs at gas pumps. And letters that take weeks to get delivered, waiters who throw food at you, rude sales help, and computers that bill you for things you never bought. It's about broken benches, waterless fountains, cracked windows, dirty toilets, crater-filled roads, graffiti-covered buildings, slashed paintings, toppled statues, stolen books. It's about shoelaces that break in a week, bulbs that keep burning out, pens that won't write, cars that rust, stamps that don't stick, stitches that don't hold, buttons that pop off, zippers that jam, planes that lose their engines, reactors that leak, dams that burst, roofs that collapse... It's about astrologers, shamans, exorcists, witches, and angels in space suits... It's about a lot of other things that are new and strange in America today. —from the Introduction

Being American on the Edge by J. Goddard Book Summary:

This manuscript focuses on the development of hybrid city-country (penurban) landscapes around large urban areas which mesh stylized countryside with functional links to the cities. These landscapes are central to American mindsets as they combine the dreams, expectations, and experiences of the nation in expressive cultural landscapes. An interpretive-analytical methodology is used in this single-authored, multidisciplinary work which draws on insights from history, American Studies, social sciences, urban studies, and environmental studies, and cultural studies in order to portray lifestyle and settlement phenomena overlooked by single disciplinary fields. Telling the story of how penurban landscapes emerged, the work blends original research with a re-reading of existing work to understand developing lifestyle and settlement patterns. The book aims at readers in history, urban studies, environmental studies, consumerism and American Studies.

The Kingdom by Emmanuel Carrère Book Summary:

'The Kingdom, already a huge bestseller in France, is thrilling, magnificent and strange' Bryan Appleyard, Sunday Times 'An utterly brilliant book' Catherine Nixey, The Times The sensational international bestseller from one of France's most fêted writers - an epic novel telling the story of Christianity as it has never been told before, and one man's crisis of faith. Corinth, ancient Greece, two thousand years ago. An itinerant preacher, poor, wracked by illness, tells the story of a prophet who was crucified in Judea, who came back from the dead, and whose return is a sign of something enormous. Like a contagion, the story will spread over the city, the country and, eventually, the world. Emmanuel Carrère's astonishing historical epic tells the story of the mysterious beginnings of Christianity, bringing to life a distant, primeval past of strange sects, apocalyptic beliefs and political turmoil. In doing so Carrère, once himself a fervent believer, questions his own faith, asks why we believe in resurrection, and what it means. The Kingdom is his masterpiece.

Autour des Van Loo by ROLLAND Christine Book Summary:

Jesus and Brian by Joan E. Taylor Book Summary:

Monty Python's Life of Brian film is known for its brilliant satirical humour. Less well known is that the film contains references to what was, at the time of its release, cutting edge biblical scholarship and Life of Jesus research. This research, founded on the acceptance of the Historical Jesus as a Jew who needs to be understood within the context of his time, is implicitly referenced through the setting of the Brian character within a tumultuous social and political background. This collection is a compilation of essays from foremost scholars of the historical Jesus and the first century Judaea, and includes contributions from George Brooke, Richard Burridge, Paula Fredriksen, Steve Mason, Adele Reinhartz, Bart Ehrman, Amy-Jill Levine, James Crossley, Philip Davies, Joan Taylor, Bill Telford, Helen Bond, Guy Stiebel, David Tollerton, David Shepherd and Katie Turner. The collection opens up the Life of Brian to renewed investigation and, in so doing, uses the film to reflect on the historical Jesus and his times, revitalising the discussion of history and Life of Jesus research. The volume also features a Preface from Terry Jones, who not only directed the film, but also played Brian's mum.

At Risk by Piers Blaikie,Terry Cannon,Ian Davis,Ben Wisner Book Summary:

The term 'natural disaster' is often used to refer to natural events such as earthquakes, hurricanes or floods. However, the phrase 'natural disaster' suggests an uncritical acceptance of a deeply engrained ideological and cultural myth. At Risk questions this myth and argues that extreme natural events are not disasters until a vulnerable group of people is exposed. The updated new edition confronts a further ten years of ever more expensive and deadly disasters and discusses disaster not as an aberration, but as a signal failure of mainstream 'development'. Two analytical models are provided as tools for understanding vulnerability. One links remote and distant 'root causes' to 'unsafe conditions' in a 'progression of vulnerability'. The other uses the concepts of 'access' and 'livelihood' to understand why some households are more vulnerable than others. Examining key natural events and incorporating strategies to create a safer world, this revised edition is an important resource for those involved in the fields of environment and development studies.
