Strange Angels

Strange Angels Pdf [Pdf/ePub] eBook

Strange Angels by JohnA Passaro Book Summary:

Synchronicity + Serendipity + Divine Intervention + The Universe = Strange AngelsI started writing Strange Angels in 2016, and like with all the books I have ever written, at specific points in the writing process, I knew an event hadn't happened yet, which was crucial to my finishing this book. With 99% of the book complete, I knew something was missing. So, I listened to my soul, and I gave it some space. 'Strange Angels' is about how the people you meet in your life are for a specific reason. It is about how real-life events often simultaneously occur in your life to either renew your spirit or to answer a problem you have been trying to solve on your own, but haven't. It is about stillness and plateaus and listening to your soul. I finished writing Strange Angels during the 2020 Coronavirus Pandemic, with the whole world shut down. Seeing the world in solitude, social distancing, and understanding who and what is essential in life was the event I needed to experience to finish writing this book. I understand the importance of interactions with people, the need to live life, of seeing the world, of knowing the effect we all have on one another, and that the invisible can be very powerful. I know more than anything else in this world when a life-changing event simplifies your life when it brings it to a standstill; it also gives you a gift; the ability to hear your soul. Your soul is always there for you, just on most days, life's noise drowns it out. When you strip away the noise of the world, one's soul becomes audible. The opportunity to clear the air, to be able to listen to our souls, is a gift. When we hear and listen to our souls, we are aligned. Life in soul alignment is the most valuable time in our lives. It is in soul alignment that the Divine orchestrates our journey. There is nothing more important. It is the Divinely orchestrated journey of our soul. So often, we make plans without ever listening to our soul, and we wonder why those plans peter out at some point. It is only after experiencing a life-changing event, where all we have or ever worked for is washed away in an instant, that we realize we are most rich. For, an extraordinary gift has been given to us. The gift is the clear audible pathway to hear our soul. I believe it is when we are in alignment with our soul that Strange Angels guide us to the next Divine dot in our lives. I have often tried to define what success is in life. I have concluded success for me, is living a life that is in alignment with my soul no matter life's circumstances; to recognize the people who speak to my soul, to partake in actions that make the sound of my soul louder, to trust in the process of life. When I do, I believe I am living successfully. To be able to recognize the Strange Angels your soul sends into your life, you must be aligned with your soul. Sometimes, it takes a life-changing event, like a world pandemic, to become soul-aligned. So be it. Welcome the Strange Angels in your life. Recognize when you are among them.Allow them to guide you to your next Divine dot. For, when the Divine dots of your life eventually all become connected, the portrait and true purpose of your life is revealed. Strange Angels is the fourth book in the "Every Breath is Gold" memoir collection. It can be read as a standalone, although I believe one would enjoy it more having read, "6 Minutes Wrestling with Life," "Again," and "Your Soul Knows."

In poem after poem, Root compels the reader to discover that these key moments require the heart to open and the mind to still in order to fully accept whatever results, whether it is to suffer inconsolably or to discover new facets of wisdom. With an imagery that is by turns beautiful, tender, provocative, and terrifying, this collection signals the triumphant return of a poet of national renown.

Three Strange Angels

Strange Angels Pdf [Pdf/ePub] eBook

Three Strange Angels by Laura Kalpakian Book Summary:

Francis Carson, brilliant British novelist, renowned for his lyrical prose, his drinking, and his womanizing, was a free spirit who crashed through life. In February 1950 he was found dead in the Garden of Allah swimming pool. Diffident Quentin Castle-newly-married, a lowly junior partner in his father's firm, Castle Literary Agency-must convey this terrible news to the widow in Oxfordshire. Claire Carson's plight, impoverished, alone with three small children, her dignity, her desolation, her deep blue eyes awaken in Quentin wholly new emotions. In a spasm of gallantry, he promises to escort Francis's body home to England from California. Regent Films are making a movie of Carson's best known book in sun-splashed Hollywood. As a Brit, accustomed to austere, pinched, post-war London, Quentin navigates uneasily through artifice and opulence. The top executives at Regent treat him with conventional sympathy, polite condescension, and something obscure, tinged with evasion. But these few days in California-and a weekend in Mexico-will change Quentin Castle forever. His subsequent choices-variously brilliant, audacious and unethical-are enveloped in impenetrable layers of betrayal that will crack, crumble, and finally destroy.

Strange Acts

Strange Angels Pdf [Pdf/ePub] eBook

Strange Acts by Rick Strelan Book Summary:

This book examines many of the strange events and actions in Acts in the context of the Hellenistic world and from that perspective. These events and actions include the ascension of Jesus, direction by the Spirit, visions, angelophanies, prison escapes and resuscitations of the dead. Many of these events are either avoided in scholarship or are investigated with an agenda other than to understand them for themselves. The book constructs an ancient audience to be one that has a close familiarity with the Septuagint and with other Greek and Latin writings. The culturally-strange events are then interpreted through the lens of these texts.

Strange Angel

Strange Angels Pdf [Pdf/ePub] eBook

Strange Angel by George Pendle Book Summary:

Now a CBS All Access series: “A riveting tale of rocketry, the occult, and boom-and-bust 1920s and 1930s Los Angeles” (Booklist). The Los Angeles Times headline screamed: ROCKET SCIENTIST KILLED IN PASADENA EXPLOSION. The man known as Jack Parsons, a maverick rocketeer who helped transform a derided sci-fi plotline into actuality, was at first mourned as a scientific prodigy. But reporters soon uncovered a more shocking story: Parsons had been a devotee of the city’s occult scene. Fueled by childhood dreams of space flight, Parsons was a leader of the motley band of enthusiastic young men who founded the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, a cornerstone of the American space program. But Parsons’s wild imagination also led him into a world of incantations and orgiastic rituals—if he could make rocketry a reality, why not black magic? George Pendle re-creates the world of John Parsons in this dazzling portrait of prewar superstition, cold war paranoia, and futuristic possibility. Peopled with such formidable real-life figures as Howard Hughes, Aleister Crowley, L. Ron Hubbard, and Robert Heinlein, Strange Angel explores the unruly consequences of genius. The basis for a new miniseries created by Mark Heyman and produced by Ridley Scott, this biography “vividly tells the story of a mysterious and forgotten man who embodied the contradictions of his time . . . when science fiction crashed into science fact. . . . [It] would make a compelling work of fiction if it weren’t so astonishingly true” (Publishers Weekly).

Strange Histories

Strange Angels Pdf [Pdf/ePub] eBook

Strange Histories by Darren Oldridge Book Summary:

Strange Histories presents a serious account of some of the most extraordinary occurrences of European and North American history and explains how they made sense to people living at the time. Using case studies from the Middle Ages and the early modern period, this book provides fascinating insights into the world-view of a vanished age and shows how such occurences fitted in quite naturally with the "common sense" of the time. Explanations of these phenomena, riveting and ultimately rational, encourage further reflection on what shapes our beliefs today. What made reasonable, educated men and women behave in ways that seem utterly nonsensical to us today? This question and many more are answered in this fascinating book.

Milton's Angels

Strange Angels Pdf [Pdf/ePub] eBook

Milton's Angels by Joad Raymond Book Summary:

Milton's Paradise Lost, the most eloquent, most intellectually daring, most learned, and most sublime poem in the English language, is a poem about angels. It is told by and of angels; it relies upon their conflicts, communications, and miscommunications. They are the creatures of Milton's narrative, through which he sets the Fall of humankind against a cosmic background. Milton's angels are real beings, and the stories he tells about them rely on his understanding of what they were and how they acted. While he was unique in the sublimity of his imaginative rendering of angels, he was not alone in writing about them. Several early-modern English poets wrote epics that explore the actions of and grounds of knowledge about angels. Angels were intimately linked to theories of representation, and theology could be a creative force. Natural philosophers and theologians too found it interesting or necessary to explore angel doctrine. Angels did not disappear in Reformation theology: though centuries of Catholic traditions were stripped away, Protestants used them in inventive ways, adapting tradition to new doctrines and to shifting perceptions of the world. Angels continued to inhabit all kinds of writing, and shape the experience and understanding of the world. Milton's Angels: The Early-Modern Imagination explores the fate of angels in Reformation Britain, and shows how and why Paradise Lost is a poem about angels that is both shockingly literal and sublimely imaginative.

Deception in Selection

Strange Angels Pdf [Pdf/ePub] eBook

Deception in Selection by Mr Max A Eggert Book Summary:

The latest research suggests that 33% of people lie deliberately to achieve employment. The costs of mis-hires are significant in terms of management time, selection and reselection costs and potential legal costs. There are 101 opportunities for applicants to economize with the truth, exaggerate or simply lie, both on their CV and at interview. They may be desperate in a competitive job market; they may think that exaggeration is an expected part of the process or they just rely on the fact that many employers still fail to make the most rudimentary of checks of what they are told. Max Eggert’s Deception in Selection will help you, the recruiter, to understand how and why candidates deceive. The book examines proven techniques and tactics to balance the interview game, to restore equity in the face of the clever approaches that sophisticated candidates bring to the interview. Although there is no foolproof way of identifying deception, you can, with practice, become amazingly accurate if there is a commitment to master the basics. The object of this book is to learn how to detect more effectively the fabrications that candidates present in selection situations that would have a direct adverse effect on their performance in the job. Reading it will encourage you to look at lying and truth telling in a new light and discover how pervasively lies and self-deception influence selection decisions. This is a must read guide from a best-selling business author for all those who participate in the selection process.

Critical Theory to Structuralism

Strange Angels Pdf [Pdf/ePub] eBook

Critical Theory to Structuralism by David Ingram Book Summary:

Philosophy in the middle of the 20th Century, between 1920 and 1968, responded to the cataclysmic events of the time. Thinkers on the Right turned to authoritarian forms of nationalism in search of stable forms of collective identity, will, and purpose. Thinkers on the Left promoted egalitarian forms of humanism under the banner of international communism. Others saw these opposed tendencies as converging in the extinction of the individual and sought to retrieve the ideals of the Enlightenment in ways that critically acknowledged the contradictions of a liberal democracy racked by class, cultural, and racial conflict. Key figures and movements discussed in this volume include Schmitt, Adorno and the Frankfurt School, Arendt, Benjamin, Bataille, French Marxism, Black Existentialism, Saussure and Structuralism, Levi Strauss, Lacan and Late Pragmatism. These individuals and schools of thought responded to this 'modernity crisis' in different ways, but largely focused on what they perceived to be liberal democracy's betrayal of its own rationalist ideals of freedom, equality, and fraternity.

Transylvanian Dinosaurs

Strange Angels Pdf [Pdf/ePub] eBook

Transylvanian Dinosaurs by David B. Weishampel,Coralia-Maria Jianu Book Summary:

At the end of the time of the dinosaurs, Transylvania was an island in what was to become southeastern Europe. The island's limited resources affected the size and life histories of its animals, resulting in a local dwarfism. For example, sauropods found on the island measured only six meters long, while their cousins elsewhere grew up to five times larger. Here, David B. Weishampel and Coralia-Maria Jianu present unique evolutionary interpretations of this phenomenon. The authors bring together the latest information on the fauna, flora, geology, and paleogeography of the region, casting these ancient reptiles in their phylogenetic, paleoecological, and evolutionary contexts. What the authors find is that Transylvanian dinosaurs experienced a range of unpredictable successes as they evolved. Woven throughout the detailed history and science of these diminutive dinosaurs is the fascinating story of the man who first discovered them, the mysterious twentieth-century paleontologist Franz Baron Nopcsa, whose name is synonymous with Transylvanian dinosaurs. Hailed by some as the father of paleobiology, it was Nopcsa alone who understood the importance of the dinosaur discoveries in Transylvania; their story cannot be told without recounting his. Transylvanian Dinosaurs strikes an engaging balance between biography and scientific treatise and is sure to capture the imagination of professional paleontologists and amateur dinophiles alike.

Psychoanalysis, Historiography, and Feminist Theory by Katherine Kearns Book Summary:

In this book Katherine Kearns explores the relationship of history to narrative. She combines psychoanalysis with recent feminist theory to reveal the hidden assumptions behind the construction of any historical narrative. Her alternative approach, one she labels psychohistoriography, rejects the notion that certain historical categories are inalienably given. By introducing insights derived from psychoanalysis and critical theory, Kearns expands our conception of what can legitimately count as historical evidence.

Hell's Angels: A Strange and Terrible Saga

Strange Angels Pdf [Pdf/ePub] eBook

Hell's Angels: A Strange and Terrible Saga by Hunter S. Thompson Book Summary:

Gonzo journalist and literary roustabout Hunter S. Thompson flies with the angels—Hell’s Angels, that is—in this short work of nonfiction. “California, Labor Day weekend . . . early, with ocean fog still in the streets, outlaw motorcyclists wearing chains, shades and greasy Levis roll out from damp garages, all-night diners and cast-off one-night pads in Frisco, Hollywood, Berdoo and East Oakland, heading for the Monterey peninsula, north of Big Sur. . . The Menace is loose again.” Thus begins Hunter S. Thompson’s vivid account of his experiences with California’s most notorious motorcycle gang, the Hell’s Angels. In the mid-1960s, Thompson spent almost two years living with the controversial Angels, cycling up and down the coast, reveling in the anarchic spirit of their clan, and, as befits their name, raising hell. His book successfully captures a singular moment in American history, when the biker lifestyle was first defined, and when such countercultural movements were electrifying and horrifying America. Thompson, the creator of Gonzo journalism, writes with his usual bravado, energy, and brutal honesty, and with a nuanced and incisive eye; as The New Yorker pointed out, “For all its uninhibited and sardonic humor, Thompson’s book is a thoughtful piece of work.” As illuminating now as when originally published in 1967, Hell’s Angels is a gripping portrait, and the best account we have of the truth behind an American legend. From the Hardcover edition.
