Islam and the Fate of Others

Islam And The Fate Of Others The Salvation Question [Pdf/ePub] eBook

Islam and the Fate of Others by Mohammad Hassan Khalil Book Summary:

Can non-Muslims be saved? And can those who are damned to Hell ever be redeemed? In Islam and the Fate of Others, Mohammad Hassan Khalil examines the writings of influential medieval and modern Muslim scholars on the controversial and consequential question of non-Muslim salvation. This is an illuminating study of four of the most prominent figures in the history of Islam: Ghazali, Ibn 'Arabi, Ibn Taymiyya, and Rashid Rida. Khalil demonstrates that though these paradigmatic figures tended to affirm the superiority of the Islamic message, they also envisioned a God of mercy and justice and a Paradise populated by Muslims and non-Muslims. Islam and the Fate of Others reveals that these theologians' interpretations of the Qur'an and hadith corpus-from optimistic depictions of Judgment Day to notions of a temporal Hell and salvation for all-challenge widespread assumptions about Islamic scripture and thought. Along the way, Khalil examines the writings of many other important writers, such as Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya, Mulla Sadra, Shah Wali Allah of Delhi, Muhammad Ali of Lahore, James Robson, Sayyid Qutb, Yusuf al-Qaradawi, Farid Esack, Reza Shah-Kazemi, T. J. Winter, and Muhammad Legenhausen. Islam and the Fate of Others is both timely and overdue.

O Death, Where Is Thy Sting......

Islam And The Fate Of Others The Salvation Question [Pdf/ePub] eBook

O Death, Where Is Thy Sting...... by Vin Smith,Vin Smith DD Book Summary:

O Death, Where Is Thy Sting......By DR Vin Smith DDThe biggest question a human being will ever pose is that ages old mystery-is there life after death? There are many ways to pose that question... Peggy Lee addressed the query in song in 1969, with the haunting number, Is That All There Is? A similar line of thinking is, does heaven exist? And perhaps the core question would be, is there a God? We can talk about the absurdity of hanging your faith on primordial ooze, maybe a lightening strike to spark life in a random pool of natural chemicals. When we finish grappling with discordant theories that take no logic or reasonable explanations into ac-count, then we can begin to examine the world itself. A sunset, the breathtaking depth and breadth of Creation itself, and uncountable stars shining in a night sky. After being awestruck by nature it-self, often the next step a thoughtful person takes is to reexamine the Bible. Start with the possibility of an actual creator. Step away from some off-the-wall view that a world was built by spontaneous means. Perhaps even something as preposterous as the presence of gravity creating life out of whole cloth. Then, when you open your Bible, you see that maybe it is time to examine its words to see if there is logic behind the testimony, contained within sixty-six books, in two testaments. After awhile, you begin to seriously question yourself. "Maybe Grandma was right... Maybe there is a God...." You begin to think that perhaps you have been in deep denial. Even running from the truth that has always stood right in front of you. Suddenly, from seemingly out of nowhere, God speaks to your heart. "But from there you will seek the Lord your God and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul." (Deuteronomy 4:29) ESV O Death, Where is thy sting: Road to Redemption offers twenty-three touchstones along the road to salvation---a definitive answer to the most important ques-tion that can ever be asked. Is there salvation? The answer is a resounding YES!

The Laws and Secrets of Success

Islam And The Fate Of Others The Salvation Question [Pdf/ePub] eBook

The Laws and Secrets of Success by Alex F Hammer Book Summary:

This book is written in the style of the great Napoleon Hill. Think about this. With all of the success books out there, why don't we have more successful people? Too many success books simply rehash conventional wisdom. The truly great success books, such as Napoleon Hill's "Think and Grow Rich", instead enable life-challenging success breakthroughs because they identify and describe in powerful detail the thinking patterns and principles of the world's most successful individuals. The only way to do this is to study the world's most successful individuals, as Napoleon Hill has done. And as I have done as well. For over two decades, I have devoted myself to studying and interviewing the most successful individuals across varying fields so that I could see and learn for myself the principles which sets them apart in terms of their success. And that is what I share with you here. Get ready to throw out many of the things that you thought you knew about success. Let's start at the beginning with a simple truth. Success is hard. Very Hard. Very very very hard. We all know that, once we have had a little bit of experience and are honest with ourselves. We all want to be more successful, but let's face it, sometimes we just don't know how. It's because, as they say, "We don't know what we don't know." So we make the same mistakes over and over again(often without fully realizing it until later). And then we blame ourselves(or others) in regard to why things didn't turn out as we had hoped, or planned. It's this simple. If you want to increase your level of success, read this book. We all go through the same struggles. This book-simply but powerfully - is your instruction manual on how to overcome them. Read this book and in 60 days you won't even recognize the person you used to be. And neither will your family and friends. This is the type of change that allows you to get the things you really want in life. The things previously outside your reach. The things you saw others gain and achieve, but never seemed to be able to get for yourself. That can change today. We all know that a few better ideas can accelerate one's success substantially. Successful people take their better ideas and know how to leverage them further - and execute them better than other people do. Once you understand the processes that successful people utilize to do this, you can very quickly ramp up your own success as well. Everybody struggles. Successful people struggle just like unsuccessful people but they learn and use the success principles to overcome the difficulties in their lives to reach their goals. Success breeds confidence, making it easier overtime. If you don't want to keep making the same mistakes over and over again, you need to understand and understand well what these success principles are. That is what this book provides to you.

Spiritual Journeying

Islam And The Fate Of Others The Salvation Question [Pdf/ePub] eBook

Spiritual Journeying by Imam Monawar Hussain Book Summary:

The author has been fascinated, from a young age, with the question of how different religious traditions, envisage the human beings spiritual journey to God? In this seminal work, he draws on two classics from his Islamic and Western heritages - The Faerie Queene and the Conference of the Birds - to address this perennial question. The author states, 'both texts are masterpieces in allegory and impregnated with multiple meanings. That is to say that they provide a map of how the human being, fallen, cut off from her origins - might once again regain that which was lost at the fall - God. Both texts are rooted within the religious cultures in which they were given birth but nonetheless speak beyond their contexts, hence their enduring appeal and relevance.'

God's Child Or Satan's Angel

Islam And The Fate Of Others The Salvation Question [Pdf/ePub] eBook

God's Child Or Satan's Angel by Adam Schutte Book Summary:

Sometimes, life can be really hard. A lot of times we make our own life difficult with the bad choices we make. Other times we grow up in a bad environment, and never had a chance before we got started. Then there are cases where you do your best and life just deals you a really bad hand. Life is not easy for most of us. I can sympathize because it wasn't easy for me either. The question is... What do we do with the broken messes we call ourselves? Do we give up? Do we use our hard circumstances as a crutch for the rest of our lives to excuse the fact that we will never be happy? Or, do we pick ourselves up out of the dust and fight for our happiness?Maybe your situation is so bad that there will never be a chance to change things around. Well, if I can go through hell and back and end up where I'm at today than anyone can. The reason I wrote this book is to show others the first steps to take who don't think there is a way out. I'm telling my story to help people in the most extreme hopeless situations that even they can find a happy ending to their story. I've always said, "Yeah though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I shall fear no evil", not because I needed a false protection from God, I fear no evil because I was something a whole lot worse.I realize using the phrase, "I went through hell and back", has become a cliché. Well, what if you witness your mother being physically abused daily. While suffering violent beatings yourself on a normal basis you became so pathetically addicted to drugs that you constantly attempt suicide. Due to the overwhelming stress on your body and mind you develop multiple personality disorder. You become a violent sociopath, and survive ten years in prison after escaping constant hits on your life due to the fact that there is a murder contract on your head. Living your whole life breaking anyone's heart who ever cared about you, all the while suffering the deepest emotional torment, and hate ever known to man. In this case I don't see anything cliché about my life's story. This was just the beginning of my life. I could have lay down and died and nobody would have blamed me for giving up. Where you have been in life doesn't define who you are now. Society, people around you, and even your own mind may tell you there is no way you will ever be happy, but if I can beat the odds by overcoming the past then anyone can. My story is proof of that.

Akka, My Mother

Islam And The Fate Of Others The Salvation Question [Pdf/ePub] eBook

Akka, My Mother by Ashok Vyankatesh Havaldar Book Summary:

Emotions and language....! Are there any specifications to express emotions? In terms of emotions, it's an expressive language. All the emotions are the same irrespective of cast, race, religion and more importantly languages. It's a universal language. The face, the eyes and the lips are the media to reach one's heart and mind. Expression is the best mirror of any thought or emotion. The other term of the same category is 'Feelings'. It is more expressive. To feel means to understand or experience by heart and mind. Music is also related with emotions. I heard a lot of music since my childhood. I hardly remember the lyrics but can't forget the music. The violin piece used in 'Kaheta hai babul...' sung by Amitjee is close to my heart. 'Rang dilki dhadkan...' an old number sung by Latajee. This is the emotional music. I would like to share an experience of a Japanese movie 'Midnight Sun', without any subtitles. It touched me because of the emotionalize characters. I involved in the movie without understanding a single word. When I decided to write Akka's story, I never thought about the language but the emotions of it. My sincere wish was to reach the maximum people. I recalled my teacher. He used to say 'read in between two lines'. When I wrote the story and felt its tender feel not in the words but in the blank spaces. The big question how to take the readers to these blank spaces of emotions? While transforming emotions in to words two things emerged. Number one 'emotions' never err. Number two the 'words' may err. Just imagine what would be the fate of the mankind without emotions? Every act was expressive. The expressive emotions converted in languages. But the base of every language is none other than the 'emotion'. Which language was used by Mother Teresa who lapped the innocent orphan for the first time? Was it Bengali, Hindi or English? Her angel's work never faced this language problem. The tender touch of her palm brought a smile on the face of an innocent child. All the five senses of a human being work to teach love, peace and harmony. How Akka faced the totally different atmosphere in the father in law family? The language was never been an obstacle to her. Then why we are worried about the language? Let's feel it. The two beautiful mothers will guide us. Don't stop the stream of 'E M O T I O N S.' Let it flow. Please enter in the characters and be a part of this story of 103 years. It is simple, readable and emotional. Experience it.

Pondering Life

Islam And The Fate Of Others The Salvation Question [Pdf/ePub] eBook

Pondering Life by Doctor Ergo,Jim Sheedy Book Summary:

Have you ever just wondered about life? What is Life? Is there God? How do we fit into the universe? What is our relationship with other living things? What does it mean to be human? Doctor Ergo provides you with a firm background and vantage point from which to view those questions. You will gain a comprehensive perspective on Life and the human condition - from the Big Bang, through Life history on this planet, to the current condition of our human mind and species, and some solid thoughts on what Life....is. This is a Story of Life. In a Darwinian world, our mental capacity has enabled us to ascend to the pinnacle of the survival pyramid. Therefore, the essence of the story about our species centers on our mind. Our cognitive skills are built upon the neural architectures that originally developed for vision and for speech/hearing. We can be aware of the 2 sides of our mind through introspection of our own consciousness: Vision based - non-verbal emotions, feelings and intuitions coming from our vision-based cognition in our Right Brain. Speech based - words, thoughts, and reasoning coming from our speech-based cognition in our Left Brain. Vision developed quickly in the Cambrian Period (570 million years ago) when the earliest animals with body forms emerged. Vision enabled the animal to see the "world," and gave the animal a sense of "self," i.e. that which was viewing the world. Consequently the concepts of "world" and "self" are deeply embedded in the cognition that developed from the vision neurological architecture. Likewise, Darwinian survival necessitated identification of same-species animals (for protection and reproduction); hence the concept of "group" is also deeply embedded in the vision-based neurology. Our speech-based left brain has no equal anywhere else in Life on this planet. This is what has made possible the major advances of the human mind, separated us from the animals, and enabled us to conquer the planet. This Sensory Mind model clarifies Plato's writings and the psychological models that were developed by Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung. The personality types tested by Myers-Briggs, which are based on the theories of Carl Jung, are consistent with the Sensory Mind. Major trends in human history have been about the growth of our collective left brain in the governance of human affairs and its interplay with our vision-based (non-verbal) right mind. Our human "advances" have largely resulted from development of our speech-based mind, but the essence and truth of life comes to us from our vision-based mind. Our earliest groupings and civilizations were largely governed by vision-based animal grouping models. These have evolved into newer civilizations and human groupings that include participation and/or leadership of our left brain "group-think." We are very familiar with the concept of Darwinian survival and its role in the evolution of Life. However, Darwinian survival is simply the strategy or tactic that governs the advancement of Life. What is it that drives Life to engage in the Darwinian struggle for survival? There IS a Life Drive that fuels evolution...what is it? The Life Drive permeates all of life and is the force that drives Darwinian evolution. It is theorized that Life is a previously unidentified parameter in Einstein's Theory of Relativity and that it exists at the conditions opposite to the Big Bang conditions. Most religious and belief systems, whether god-based such as Judaism, Christianity, or Islam, or spiritually-based such as Buddhism or Taoism, are oriented towards the ultimate truth that is Life.

On Religious Diversity

Islam And The Fate Of Others The Salvation Question [Pdf/ePub] eBook

On Religious Diversity by Robert McKim Book Summary:

In On Religious Diversity Robert McKim distinguishes and examines a number of possible responses to the knowledge of diverse religious traditions that is available to all of us today. There is no escaping the fact that the presence of competing traditions now confronts each of the traditions in a new and forceful way. And there is widespread if inchoate recognition of genuine religious sensibilities and genuine religious seriousness in others. How might, and how should, an awareness of other traditions affect a member of a particular religious tradition? What attitudes should be taken to the beliefs and salvific prospects of members of other traditions? McKim examines several proposed answers to these questions, offering the deepest analysis to date of such options as exclusivism and inclusivism. He argues that what look like well-defined and discrete positions dissolve somewhat under scrutiny, revealing significantly different possibilities. McKim suggests where best to look for the most plausible answers and makes a case for the attractiveness of inclusivistic options. He pays particular attention to the religiously ambiguous nature of our circumstances and to the implications of this ambiguity.
