Fade by Daniel Humphreys Book Summary:

Harry Dresden’s sorcery goes on a Supernatural-style road trip. Cool car sold separately. Paxton Locke is the son of a Witch. Family drama is bad enough without adding human sacrifice to the mix. Ten years ago, his mother killed his father in a grisly ritual that Paxton interrupted. Now he criss-crosses the countryside in his RV working as a paranormal investigator while Mother languishes in jail. She’ll never forgive him for interfering…or for stealing her spellbook. It started as a normal job for Paxton. At least as normal as speaking to ghosts ever was. But then the terrified shade of a murdered boy warns him of a dangerous, newly-freed entity, and suddenly he has to talk to Mother again to save the day. In a battle for his very soul, will he be able to endure – or simply fade away? Dragon Award nominee Daniel Humphreys’ urban fantasy debut brings all the best elements of Supernatural and the Dresden Files, written with his typical engaging style and evocative prose. Avid fans of the genre will be satisfied with the sarcasm, quips, and pop culture jokes found in Fade. Not to mention the spells, action and family drama.

Fade to Black and White

Fade Pdf [Pdf/ePub] eBook

Fade to Black and White by Erica Chito Childs Book Summary:

There is no teasing apart what interracial couples think of themselves from what society shows them about themselves. Following on her earlier ground-breaking study of the social worlds of interracial couples, Erica Chito Childs considers the larger context of social messages, conveyed by the media, that inform how we think about love across the color line. Examining a range of media, from movies to music to the web, Fade to Black and White offers an informative and provocative account of how the perception of interracial sexuality as "deviant" has been transformed in the course of the 20th century and how race relations are understood today.

Fade-Out by Patrick Tilley Book Summary:

Aliens have landed on this earth, and it is time for the human race to prepare itself. When an unidentified object of extra-terrestrial origins arrives on Earth, creating havoc and panic the world over, the question of whether we are alone in the universe is finally answered. Is it a danger to humanity, or an innocent explorative device? Focusing on mankind's reaction to this mysterious object, Tilley illustrates how ignorance can drive civilisation towards the brink of a devastating breakdown. Fade Into Focus, Focus Into Fade by Nick Armbrister Book Summary:

This is Nick Armbrister's first volume of poetry from his ten years of writing (1996-2006). It contains both old and new poems on several types of subject matter-from life and love to Goth and war. The poems express his views and his creativity; his love of Gothic music, aircraft, the written word and weird girls inspire him and the end result is here. He wrote his poetry while in a variety of moods. Volume 2 will follow in the future with more of his poetry. Nick has always been drawn to the weird and wonderful, and his poetry constitutes his small addition to this. The poems are simple and lasting, and make a graphic and often startling impact that cuts like broken glass.

Fade to White

Fade Pdf [Pdf/ePub] eBook

Fade to White by Edward A. Nichols, M.D. Book Summary:

Throughout the last fifty years, author Edward Nichols has spent much of his interior life consumed with attempts to fill in the blanks and contradictions in his family history, especially the status of his father, who left the family in 1943. In "Fade to White," Nichols shares his personal and family history against the backdrop of his father's disappearance and how it affected every aspect of his life. For years, no one knew if Nichols' father was dead or alive. This memoir follows Nichols' upbringing in the small, isolated colored world of the Bronx in the 1940s and 1950s, to medical school abroad, to his long-running medical practice and helping pediatric patients, to advocating and supporting his daughters. Honest and poignant, "Fade to White" narrates his life story with its ups and downs and triumphs and challenges. It tells of one family's coming together-an epilogue of one man's search for his father.

Fade Out by Nova Ren Suma Book Summary:

Life echoes art in this sassy, heartwrenching coming-of-age story from the author of Imaginary Girls. It’s summer and Dani Callanzano has been abandoned by everyone she knows. Her dad moved out, her mom is all preoccupied being broken-hearted, and her closest friend just moved away. Basically it’s the end of the world. At least she has the Little Art, her favorite local arthouse movie theater. Dani loves all the old black-and-white noir thrillers with their damsels in distress and their low camera angles. It also doesn’t hurt that Jackson, the guy who works the projection reel, is super cute and nice and funny. And completely off-limits, of course—he’s Dani’s friend’s boyfriend, and they are totally, utterly perfect together. But one day, Dani stumbles across a shocking secret about Jackson—a secret too terrible for her to keep. She finds herself caught in the middle of a love triangle with enough drama to rival the noir-est film noir she’s ever seen.

Not Fade Away

Fade Pdf [Pdf/ePub] eBook

Not Fade Away by Ronald C. Gordon Book Summary:

A journey to maturity, Not Fade Away is the first part of author Ronald C. Gordon’s Andy Lerner trilogy. Andy is a teenager growing up on the cusp of Eisenhower complacency and 60's tumult, a time when Buddy Holly and Elvis Presley were at the peak of their careers. A fat, awkward, fifteen-year-old boy, Andy becomes obsessed with the trends of his generation – rock and roll, movies, dances, dates, and more, seeking freedom from the indistinct yet palpable grip of his family. As he deals with his algebra difficulties and getting to know the pretty girls in school, a chain of unfortunate events takes place, prodding him to understand who he really is. Through the help of his brother Marty, his own lifelong friends and some unexpected new ones, and Hattie Mae, the family maid, Andy learns to accept the challenges of boyhood and readies himself for heavy responsibilities at home and in school. Creating a dramatic coming-of-age tale amidst the relentless summer heat of southeast Texas, author Ronald C. Gordon conveys the fear that comes with maturity, fizzled romances, and self-discovery through elegiac, subtle yet often hilarious events which will linger in the readers’ minds, Not Fade Away.

Not Fade Away

Fade Pdf [Pdf/ePub] eBook

Not Fade Away by Jim Dodge Book Summary:

A road trip novel from the author of Fup that “reads like Kerouac’s On the Road as it might have been written by Hunter S. Thompson” (The Plain Dealer). George Gastin is a Bay Area tow-truck operator who wrecks cars as part of an insurance scam. One of the cars he is hired to demolish is a snow-white Cadillac that was supposed to be a present for the Big Bopper, who died in the Iowa plane crash that killed Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens. Gastin has a change of heart and takes off in the car, heading for Texas where the Bopper is buried. Armed with a thousand hits of Benzedrine and chased by adversaries real and imagined, Gastin navigates a road trip that covers many miles and states of mind. Traveling in time from the Beat era to the dawn of the sixties, from the coffeehouses of North Beach to the open plains of America, Gastin picks up some extraordinary hitchhikers: the self-proclaimed “world’s greatest salesman,” the Reverend Double-Gone Johnson, and a battered housewife with a box of old 45s. As the miles and sleepless hours roll by, Gastin’s trip becomes a blur of fantasy and reality fueled by a soundtrack of classic rock ‘n’ roll. “His surreal voyage into the chaos of night carries him into the heart of America’s darkest psychological landscapes. Not Fade Away shakes, rattles, and rolls.” —San Francisco Chronicle

Fish Also Fade

Fade Pdf [Pdf/ePub] eBook

Fish Also Fade by Yifat Lavi,Ayelet Heller Book Summary:

A children's book, intended for children aged two years and above. The book tells the story of Little Tickly, a colorful Fin fish, clever and curious, who lives in a coral reef in the deep blue sea. One day, his mother notices the colors on Tickly's little body are fading. Little Tickly swims with his parents to the getting better Reef, where he meets new friends, receive treatment and spend time, until his colors are once again beautiful and clear. The book uses the metaphor of fading colors to describe a situation of a temporary incompatibility due to illness. There is no mentioning in the book of a specific illness, therefore it is appropriate to describe any situation (from influenza or moody feeling to severe illnesses). With the help of the book it is possible to explain to children their own health situation or of someone else in their surroundings (pre-school, classroom, family, etc.) and generate with them a space for dialogue, while using the language of colors. At the end of the book there is a professional article (written by Ayelet Heller, an experienced educational consultant and psychotherapist) which serves as a "users' guide" to the adult telling the story.
