I was that girl and what happened to me before and since is an amazing true story that even I find it hard to believe today. But it did unfold exactly as I relate it to you here. At times I think you will feel my helplessness and hope.my pain and pleasure.the cruelty that some men and women can mask.my failings and my faith that sustained me then and guide me now.and the unselfish kindness and generosity of so many good people who came to my rescue during the darkest day of my life. Most of all, it celebrates my finest accomplishment and greatest gift - the birth and grow to adulthood of my ten healthy children here and in Africa. Maybe it will indeed serve as a source of inspiration for you. I certainly hope so.

Ebook Against All Odds [Pdf/ePub] eBook

Dhirubhai Ambani: Against All Odds by Krishnamurthy Book Summary:

This is a collection of stories not just about dreams but about the price that you pay for achieving them. Dhirubhai's path was liberally sprinkled with obstacles. Some of them were deliberately placed by peers who hoped in vain to slow down his hard-to-beat pace, and some by fate itself. But unlike you and me who would probably change course after overcoming a few, he on the other hand, persevered, found a way around them, bulldozed his way through the others, but more importantly never, ever lost hope, and was rewarded a hundredfold because of it.

A Child Against All Odds

Ebook Against All Odds [Pdf/ePub] eBook

A Child Against All Odds by Lord Robert Winston Book Summary:

Compared to the famously fecund rabbit, for whom a single act of coitus has a 90% chance of creating a litter of up to 12 rabbits, humans are very infertile animals. Here in the UK, the average chance of conception is about 18% per month. And in 98% of cases, successful conception leads only to the birth of a single infant. It is unsurprising then that huge efforts have been made to increase our fertility. In vitro fertilisation, first attempted one hundred years ago, has now become big business. Market forces, combined with the desperation of many couples to fulfil their biological imperative, have pushed doctors and scientists closer to the boundaries of what is desirable or ethical. And as we are increasingly able to access and control the embryo, the opportunities of altering human genetics to eradicate disease, but also to change human characteristics, becomes a real, and to some, frightening possibility. A Child Against All Odds is a ground-breaking book for Robert Winston as it falls squarely in his area of expertise. It combines his work at Hammersmith Hospital as one of the country's leading fertility specialists, with a hard-hitting, sometimes humorous, often controversial look at the scientific, social and ethical background of man's struggle to discover and control the secrets of reproduction. Drawing on personal and professional experience, it is the definitive account of modern reproductive technology from a practitioner who has spent his professional life at the forefront of this most fascinating and emotive area of science.

Against All Odds

Ebook Against All Odds [Pdf/ePub] eBook

Against All Odds by Corina L. Petrescu Book Summary:

This study comprises an analysis of public spheres in National Socialist Germany. It investigates where and under what circumstances resistance to Hitler's regime was possible. The author focuses on the space of the crypto-public - defined as a politicized private sphere - as a potential realm for anti-state activism. Based on the activities of four organizations operating in Germany between 1933 and 1944 - the Jewish Cultural Association Berlin, the Kreisau Circle, the White Rose, and the Schulze-Boysen/Harnack Organization - she analyzes how this social locus functioned to foster resistance to National Socialism. She examines the artifacts of these groups - leaflets, pamphlets, politico-economic treatises, and theater performances - in order to establish models of crypto-public spaces and evaluate their possibilities and limitations as sites of resistance.

Against All Odds by Herbert Fowle Book Summary:

Upon completion of basic training at Camp Wolters Texas Infantry Replacement Training Center, the author shipped overseas to the European Theater of Operations. After a rough crossing of the English Channel and passing through several replacement depots, he was assigned to an infantry line company. The unit, severely decimated by casualties, was currently engaged in the bloody battle of Hurtgen Forrest. Though trained as a rifleman, he volunteered to be a light machine gunner, though he knew that the automatic weapons of the company were a prime target for enemy gunners. He was also aware that the life expectancy of a machine gunner was considerably shorter than that of a rifleman. However, when the company commander made it clear that someone had to be a machine gunner and, since no one else volunteered, the author reluctantly laid down his trusty M-1 rifle and filled the vacancy. During the balance of the conflict, the author raised the average life of a light machine gunner considerably. Though he was a late combat arrival, he earned three campaign stars and beat all the odds when, by the end of the war, they had not yet fired the bullet with his name on it.

Against All Odds

Ebook Against All Odds [Pdf/ePub] eBook

Against All Odds by Ethel M. Hill Book Summary:

I feel you'll be interested in this book because it is most of all my first after year of going through hard times with doors shut in my face to success but I pressed on through for completion. I never thought or considered what I wanted to do in life as a child but grow up and get a good job plus meet the love of my life and become married as I saw mom and dad not married but stuck together in raising me and my brother. I went in and out of schools not satisfied because I felt there was a special calling on me for my life. From my mother's womb was Christianity instilled within me down throughout the dispensations of my roots. Therefore, at my adult hood, nothing else was left for me to do my search for the truth about this god I was taught. I had a baby girl at seventeen with the dad disowning but I went to become a mother and father with mom and dads help! Disappointments, heartaches, heartbreaks were many but I stood up and went on anyhow. I got my GED and entered a hometown business college but that was not what I wanted to do in life. Down throughout the years, I began to write notes about events that happened to me from day to day, good or bad because in my mind I began to get things tangled up! I was steady and secured because in the arms of the lord but question marks yet remained! The stack piled higher and higher from year to year. One day it came to me what about rhymes because I was taking piano lessons. So I began to apply the words in poems lines. This is the first book of many as Ive said! So there maybe typo errors but many have to know you really can make through the storm with Jesus as your leader and guide. Hold on to your dreams and pursue them to the fullest! God bless and keep you in his love not mine because I will fail but Jesus never fails! [email protected]

ISRAEL AGAINST ALL ODDS

Ebook Against All Odds [Pdf/ePub] eBook

ISRAEL AGAINST ALL ODDS by Christopher H. K. Persaud Book Summary:

The Jewish people have been and are indisputably the most persecuted people in the annals of history. Today. 53% of all hate crimes in the United States of America are directed at the Jewish People. At the source of Jew-hatred in its myriad forms is anti-Semitism, a sinister and vile mindset that has existed since Old Testament times or for thousands of years. Anti-Semites pervade social, religious, economic and political confines, even mainstream Christianity, and their dislike for people of Jewish ancestry often translate into mindless persecution and slaughter, such as the atrocities perpetrated by the Nazis and their collaborators during the Second World War in the mid-twentieth century whereby over six million Jews met their deaths in the Holocaust. Anti-Semitism, instead of diminishing after the horrors of World War II, showed no sign of abatement, and it seems as though the entire world, with a few exceptions like the Jewish nation of Israel itself and the United States of America, is at loggerheads with Jews. Even international peacekeeping and monitoring organizations like the United Nations (and its numerous spinoff groups) are known to discriminate, sometimes barefacedly, against Jews and Israel. Middle Eastern Arabs and Muslims harbor intense loathing for Israel and Jews, and notwithstanding their occupancy of over ninety-nine percent of Middle Eastern territories, seek to covet the less than one percent of land in which Israelis reside—by any means necessary. Despite the seemingly insurmountable hardships and challenges Jews have faced throughout the centuries, they persist and even progress in today’s societies. They leave their enemies awe-struck at their resilience and their will to survive. It seems as though Israel and Jews, in general, enjoy a kind of divine providence. ISRAEL and Jews around the world continue to stand tall today—against all odds!
